Our Chinese composition (作文) class includes components such as vocabulary building (词语积累) and character recognition (识字), as well as guided writing practice (写作练习) to help your child apply their Chinese language skills in writing. Our goal is to help students from Primary 3 to Primary 6 continually refine and excel in the writing aspect of their Chinese language skills.
Composition or creative writing is a common aspect of the Chinese language that students struggle with. While many students may feel confident recognising and reading Chinese text, expressing their own ideas in writing may not always be easy. Students may tend to rely on memorizing phrases or sentence structures, which further limits their creativity when being asked to write about an unfamiliar topic. Other students may struggle to organize their ideas into a cohesive narrative. These are the difficulties we address individually in our Chinese creative writing class.

Our team consists of highly qualified Chinese teachers selected for their expertise in the language.

Trusted expertise with two decades of experience delivering exceptional Chinese education.

Whether you’re a primary school student or a secondary school student, tuition in Singapore caters to all levels.

Elevate your child’s Chinese language skills through our proven and impactful content-based teaching approach.
Our Chinese composition class covers essential aspects that lay the foundation for building your child’s writing skills, including:

We help students enrich their Chinese vocabulary and develop a strong understanding of idioms and phrases they can use to create a rich and engaging composition.
We use age-appropriate pictures and literary texts to sharpen students’ analytical skills and creativity, preparing them to write about diverse topics.
Our tutors provide hands-on, step-by-step guidance to help your child actively apply their language skills in their writing and also provide personalised feedback for improvement.
Beyond writing, we also encourage students to engage in oral communication practices, which help increase their overall fluency in Chinese.
Our Chinese composition classes are held in 2-hour sessions every week, with expert tutors who are experienced in supporting consistent growth in your child's writing skills.
A Chinese composition (作文) is usually marked based on several aspects:
Students should write in a clear structure consisting of an engaging introduction, a well-developed body, and a clear conclusion that relates back to the main topic of their composition.
The composition should demonstrate effective use of vocabulary, including phrases (词语) and idioms (成语) that enrich the narrative as a whole.
Students should organise and present their ideas in a coherent manner, which allows readers to easily follow and understand their text.
Chinese examinations may require students to write different kinds of text, such as narrative, descriptive, or argumentative. As such, students should be able to adapt their tone and style to suit the given topic. Their writing may even evoke emotion and leave a lasting impression on the reader.
In the PSLE Chinese examination, which students should face once they reach Primary 6, Chinese composition is marked based on two main criteria:
Enrolling in a Chinese composition class helps students strengthen both the content (内容) and the expression (表达) of their writing, increasing their chances of earning high marks. For practical techniques students can apply immediately, our guide on how to score high in PSLE and O-Level Chinese composition covers the exam strategies our tutors teach in class.
At Hua Yi Education, our Chinese creative writing classes focus on building your child’s creativity so they can approach composition questions with newfound confidence.

We believe that creating compelling compositions begins with a strong foundation in Chinese. We help your child expand their vocabulary, recognise Chinese characters more fluently, and construct sentences in advanced structures.

With a consistent schedule of weekly 2-hour sessions, we ensure that your child can be more familiar with Chinese composition.

We encourage students to use their imagination in writing stories and compositions.

In addition to composition, our classes help your child strengthen their oral communication and literature analysis skills.

We keep each class engaging through relevant games, picture discussions, and stimulating tasks because we believe students learn better when they actually enjoy and look forward to being in class.

As your child develops greater fluency in reading, speaking, and writing in Chinese, we believe they will gain the confidence they need to use the language at school, at home, and in their daily lives.
In our Chinese composition class, we are committed to catering to every student’s needs. Whether your child enjoys storytelling and writing or is struggling to improve, our tutors will provide the guidance they need to write better in Chinese and develop a deeper appreciation for the language.

I’ve been studying at Huayi for a while, and it’s honestly one of the best tuition centres I’ve been to. The teachers are super patient and really take the time to explain concepts clearly. hey don’t just rush through the syllabus but make sure we actually understand what we’re learning. It’s a very supportive environment that really motivates me to improve. Highly recommend Huayi Thomson to anyone who wants serious results but still enjoys the learning process![]()

Our Chinese composition class is intended for P3-P6 students. In general, starting early is beneficial for building a strong foundation and preparing them for PSLE Chinese examinations.
Yes. By enriching their vocabulary, exposing them to a wide range of Chinese texts, and guiding them in their writing, students will gradually improve their Chinese. We also provide more targeted support for students who struggle so that they can strengthen their foundation.
With over 20 years of experience conducting P6 Chinese PSLE preparation, many of our students achieve AL1 or AL2 in their PSLE Chinese, with high marks in the composition paper (Paper 1). We are always happy to welcome new students to join our growing journey every year!
