This comprehensive programme is designed to strengthen listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, with greater emphasis on learning sentence structure and expressing ideas clearly both orally and in writing. Students begin structured reading comprehension training, learning to understand texts and respond meaningfully.
This programme further enhances all four language skills by expanding vocabulary, deepening understanding of word meanings, and strengthening reading comprehension. Students are guided in writing techniques and strategies, and gradually learn to independently complete comprehension questions and essay writing.
The course is built around two core components: Reading Comprehension & Writing and Oral & Composition Skills. With more focused and specialised training, students attend dedicated classes in Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, and Oral & Composition. Through repeated practice of answering techniques and exam-style questions, students build confidence and mastery—ensuring they are well prepared for the PSLE Chinese examination.
Designed for students with a weaker foundation in Chinese, this course aligns with school textbooks and required vocabulary. Using a “one lesson, one practice” approach, it helps students master essential words through activities such as Pinyin and vocabulary exercises, character recognition, word meaning explanations, and short passage fill-in-the-blank tasks. It also lays a solid foundation for answering reading comprehension questions and writing compositions.
Reading comprehension and composition together make up Paper 2 of the PSLE Chinese examination and account for the largest share of exam marks. Our primary programme trains students in both — decoding unfamiliar passages, identifying question intent, structuring arguments, and applying rich vocabulary and sentence patterns in their own writing. Lessons are aligned with the MOE Chinese Language syllabus and use answering frameworks adapted from past PSLE and school prelim papers, so students learn to read for meaning and write with purpose rather than memorising templates.
Our Oral and Listening lessons help P4 to P6 students strengthen their spoken Chinese and listening comprehension skills. During oral practice, students read passages aloud and respond to questions based on video clips. Teachers guide them in organising their ideas, elaborating on their responses and speaking with greater clarity and confidence.
For listening comprehension, students practise identifying key information from dialogues, announcements, advertisements, explanations and short stories. These exercises help them become more familiar with different question formats and improve their ability to understand and respond accurately to spoken Chinese.
The course covers all components of the PSLE Chinese examination. Through high-frequency practice in Language Use, Reading Comprehension, Composition, and Oral Communication, students strengthen their answering techniques, become familiar with commonly tested oral and writing topics, and comprehensively improve their Chinese/Higher Chinese performance.

Through vocabulary reinforcement, reading comprehension practice, and writing guidance, we help students gradually improve their Chinese. Students with weaker foundations will receive more targeted support to build a strong language base.
